A tribute to Enrique Martín
On Wednesday July 22, in Punta del Hidalgo, Tenerife it will take place the a memorial tribute to one of the founders and conducer of Los Sabandeños.
Enrique Martín (Quique) was member of the chorus "Palestrina" together with several intellectual and culture people that, in some way, was the seminal point of our group. His tandem with Elfidio Alonso contributed to produce the "Sabandeños sound" which made a revolution in the way to understand the popular music, not only in the Canaries.
His humour sense and a life plenty of anecdotes are still present in the current life of Los Sabandeños. Quique is still an emotive part of us.
We would like to invite our friends to attend to this tribute in the place where we born as a group 43 years ago thanks to courage people like our loved friend Quique.
Los Sabandeños will also uncover a plaque on his former house in memoriam of this tribute.

Los Sabandeños at the Radio program "El Larguero" from SER channel
"El larguero" (The Crossbeam) is one of the most popular programs of the Spanish radio broadcastings. Leaded by José Antonio de La Morena it has been maintained as the top in audience of the sports segment.
On next Monday at 23 h (GMT) we will perform some of our songs to celebrate the success of the Tenerife football club getting the Spanish premier league.

Annual cite in "La Orotava"
For over 20 years Los Sabandeños have been performing during the celebrations of the Corpus Christie in La Orotava this traditional concert. This historical village of the north of Tenerife will held the recital, which marks the starting of summer, in the V Centenerio square. Don't miss it and meet us next Friday 26 at 10.30 pm.
We will perform songs from our last two CDs "Lo que da la parra" and "Te canto un bolero" but, by sure, we also offered some of the most celebrating songs of Los Sabandeños.

We will perform the "Misa Sabandeña" (Sabandeño's Mass) in El Cristo
square of La Laguna
As part of the celebrations of the visit of the image of the Virgin of
Candelaria to La Laguna, on May 22 (at 8.30 pm) it will take place a
mass in the big square of El Cristo of La Laguna (Tenerife). Los
Sabandeños will perform our Mass in an event where is expected a
massive participation.

Adrew Ewing, in our house
The American scientist Andrew Ewing (in the center of the picture) from Pennsylvania University has
recently made a professional visit to Tenerife. As a long time friend,
he came to our house to attend one of our rehearsals. The researcher,
who is currently also working in Goteborg University (Sweden) was
enthusiastic with the music of Los Sabandeños.

Los Sabandeños, will perform in The Centro Cultural de la Villa (Madrid)
On the next Saturday 11 st and Sunday 12 nd of April Los Sabandeños will bring their new show to the emblematical stage Fernán Gómez, formerly called 'Centro Cultural de la Villa de Madrid'.
This time, we also perform the "Misa Sabandeña" the first recording ever from the group back in the sixties together with the last two released CDs: 'Lo que da la Parra' (what the grape tree produces) , which travels across several countries searching for the fingerprints of the three major rhythms from the Canary Islands: Isas, Folías and Malagueñas and "Te canto un bolero"(I sing to you a bolero) recorded in 2008 together with the Spanish diva María Dolores Pradera.

Introducing "Lo que da la Parra" in the Auditorium of Tenerife
On last Saturday April 4th, Los Sabandeños performed our last show based on the last released CD "Lo que da la parra", in the Auditorium of Tenerife.
With a great enthusiasm the public also recognized the great job performed by the dancers from "Los Majuelos" (Tenerife) and "Los Campesinos" (Lanzarote). Moreover, we had with us two great Venezuelan singers: Thony Romero and Nancy Toro, which already had collaborated in the recording of the CD.
